The mobile soil moisture monitoring device emits a signal of a certain frequency, which is transmitted by the signal source probe and reaches the soil end. Due to impedance mismatch, some signals are reflected back to the transmission line, forming a standing wave superposition with the original signal. Since the reflectivity depends on the dielectric constant of the soil, which is linearly related to the soil moisture content, the standing wave superposition signal can be detected to obtain the soil moisture content.
